Monza Composite Doors

You may have noticed on our site that we have a seperate group of doors called "Monzas". This sub-set of composite is becoming a popular choice for modern doorways.

What makes Monza composite doors stand out?
These modern composites are quite popular - and quyite different from our other modern designs
They use flat cassettes
Unlike the majority of our composite doors, which use raised and curved cassettes to surround the glass, Monzas have flat ones to give them a more ultra-modern look than other contemporary designs.
The slab is grooved unlike other contemporary styles
Other contemporary designs have a flat slab, but Monzas have a distinct grooved pattern – a large near-full sized rectangle divided internally by horizontal lines in a similar fashion to our vertically grooved cottage style doors. The wood-like grain is also mostly horizontal, with the left and right most pieces grained vertically, as opposed to having the fully vertical grain of our flat slabbed styles.
How do they measure up to other doors?
While much of your choice depends on aesthetic, our Monza composite front and back doors offer their advantages when compared to orther materials on the market.
They look like wood, but do more
Both are sturdy, and while our composites look like wooden doors, they are more resilient against the elements, having a GRP skin that’s both rain-resistant and UV-stable. This means it won’t be susceptible to warping or degrading in the fashion of unprotected wood.
They’re cheaper than aluminium – and more energy efficient
Both offer sleek, modern designs, but not only are our composites cheaper, they’re also more thermally efficient as standard. Aluminium is a poor insulator, as due to its high thermal conductivity, and without adequate thermal breaks, the cold can easily pass though from the outside to inside your home.
They’re closer to wooden doors than UPVC
Both are effective for insulation and durability against the elements. However, for a wooden door look, composites are closer. On the other hand, UPVC doors are a cheaper alternative, albeit with a sleeker surface than grained composite.

What styles do you offer?
Our selection of Monza composite front and back doors naturally include modern style glass shapes and designs, with several door, frame and hardware finishes available.
The Monza 3 Square
Three small squares of glass are set down the centre of the slab within the large grooved box, from top to bottom. Each glass panel is met halfway by one of the horizontal grooves.
Shown here is the Monza 3 Square Centre, with:
- Edge glass design, sandblast with etched inner border
- Graphite silver hardware, including our standard Balmoral handle and letterplate
- Anthracite grey door and frame finish, perfect for modern designs
The Monza 3 Square is only available in a Centre configuration.

The Monza 4 Square
Similar to the 3 Square, but with four evenly dispersed glass panels within the grooved box.
Shown is the Monza 4 Square Centre, with:
- Deco glass design, sandblasted with etched abstract lines
- Chrome hardware, including the Balmoral handle, letterplate and numerals
- Our pebble finish for the door and a white frame
The Monza 4 Square is available in Centre, Handle and Hinge configurations.

The Monza Glazed
The glass panel is a single full height strip, from the top to bottom of the large grooved box, and about the same width as the glass of the Square styles.
Shown is the Monza Glazed Hinge, with:
- Anice (plain) glass with sandblasted backing off-set to the hinge side of the door
- Stainless steel hardware, consisting of a letterplate and round bar handle
- a blue door finish, with the frame in white
The Glazed is available as Centre, Handle and Hinge configurations.

The Monza Solid
The version of the Monza without glass, the grooved design is in full view. As a solid style, it is especially suited as a back door, but ideal for front entrances that require privacy, particularly when the property looks over a busy street.
Show with this Monza Solid are:
- Gold hardware, consisting of the dripbar, lever pad handle and spyhole
- Our green door colour with white frame
Such a combination of door and hardware finishes can add a classical twist to an otherwise contemporary door style.

What are my options?
There are other things to consider besides the style of your door. Here is what our Monzas can and can't have.
A variety of finishes
Choose from an extensive range of finishes for your door and frame, with anthracite grey to compliment the modern design, or something completely different to make your home stand out. Our hardware, such as handles and knockers, come in different styles and with metallic or opaque finishes, from chrome to black.
Decorative glass designs - or backing glass
Add a further contemporary accent with one of our modern glass designs, or go with plain glass and a choice of backing glass pattern. Any toplight or side panels can be matched in backing glass to that of your door should you choose to have it with plain glass.
Catflaps can't be fitted - not directly
Unfortunately, Monza doors do not have the option for a catflap or pet door. However, one can be installed within a side panel should it be wide enough.
