UPVC Door Colours

Functionality is not the only important aspect of a good external door - but also appearance, to match a home's aesthetic with style, or bring it to life with colour.
What are the advantages of coloured UPVC doors?
UPVC doors are not only durable, but with a wide choice of opaque and woodgrain finishes, they can easily replace old wooden front and back doors.
You won’t need to paint them
Unlike wood, there’s no need to repaint UPVC. A painted wooden door can chip or fade in the rain and sun, and look untidy, unless you take the time to repaint it.
They’re easy to clean
All it takes is a clean cloth and warm soapy water to wipe down your new UPVC door. DO NOT use abrasives (scouring pads, power washers) or solvent based products (washing-up liquid, bleach) as these can damage ruin the pristine appearance.
They’re weather resistant
The British weather can be harsh and unpredictable, and not too kind on wood. UPVC doors are purpose-built to withstand the elements, rain or shine - they're UV stable and so will stand up against fading in sunlight, and with a weatherproof surface will not soak up water as wood can, which can deteriorate over time.
Our colour foil is widely used
We use Renolit foils with our UPVC doors, which are common with UPVC windows as well, making colour-matching easy. We also sell a variety of UPVC windows, with the same weather resistance and low-maintenance requirements as our doors.

Should I replace my frame, toplight or side panels too?
You may be reluctant to replace elements of your doorway. In some cases, it will be necessary to replace them, while in others not so but still adviseable.
The frame must be replaced
When replacing an old door for a UPVC one, replacing the frame is also required. This is not only to provide a matching set, but for the benefits of security and insulation, as the locking system and gaskets will need to line up to be effective.
The toplight as well
As this is affixed to the frame, a toplight will also need to be replaced when buying a new door. There are several options for glass as well as the benefit of a matching profile and finish.
For a side panel, it depends – but it is recommended
Larger side panels will be joined by a coupler, and so these could potentially be left as they are. However, if you're looking to have a brand new door, a new side panel will help to make your doorway look uniform and pristine.
What colours are available for UPVC?
We offer 8 finishes for our UPVC external doors and their frames, with the option for a white frame also available with all door finishes. These door finishes include:
Opaque finishes
Flat finishes that can transform your home
• White - An all-round choice that will suit any door design, whether classical or modern. While the options to have the internal side in other finishes is available, the majority of customers will leave the inside of the door and frame as white to keep their hallways looking bright.
• Black - Both modern and refined, black helps to add contrast and truly stands out.
• Anthracite Grey - The most popular finish for our contemporary doors overall, this offers a degree of formality without the boldness of black.
• Agate Grey - A calmer alternative to anthracite grey, agate is a soft and lighter grey that is not only perfect for modern styles, but also adds a modern touch to classic ones as well.
• Chartwell Green - A relaxing pastel green that's ideal for cottage styles and any type of door that requires a soothing tone.
Woodgrains
They have the look of wood, but not the drawbacks
• Rosewood - A dark wood-like finish with a knotted effect, this finish brings out the timeless wooden door motif, and is especially well-matched to classical UPVC styles.
• Golden Oak - A mid-tone woodgrain, golden oak is lighter and warmer than rosewood with a look that's similar to varnished wood.
• Irish Oak - The lightest of our three woodgrains, it has a softer and more raw wooden appearance than the other two.
Hardware options
Of course, customisation doesn't just lie in the door and frame finishes, but also in hardware options. Choose handles, letterplates and knockers from finishes such as the metallic Gold and Chrome, opaque White and Black, stylish Antique Black and Graphite Silver, or the brushed Stainless Steel.
