How does the Nuki door handle work?

The Nuki is versatile, allowing for different methods of operation.

Auto-lock when you leave

The Nuki’s Auto-Lock function can secure your front or back door when you leave home. Using the Nuki App to set the door to lock after it’s been closed, there’s no need to worry that you might have accidentally left the door unlocked when you’re out and about.

Auto-unlock when you return

Don’t fumble around for keys when the Auto-Unlock function knows that you’ve returned. The Nuki can use the location from your smartphone to determine that you’re approaching, and thus unlock the door for you.
Manually lock with the push of a button
On the internal side, there is a round button that can be pressed to lock or unlock your door. With the Lock ‘n’ Go function, the handle unlocks for 20 seconds and then automatically locks. You can adjust the time for this using the App.

Access via a Wireless Keypad

The Wireless Keypad is ideal for hotels or rental accommodations, you can set different codes for guests and housekeeping staff via the App. This allows the door to be accessed without a smartphone.

Finger print access

Control of your door is at your fingertips – literally. The fingerprint sensor on the Wireless Keypad can register numerous fingerprints of family members for your home, or of workers for the office.

Key fob entry

Keyless access in your pocket, the Key Fob unlocks your front or back door with the press of a button from up to 15 metres away. Its small size makes it easier to carry around than a smartphone. You can set permissions with the App.

Manual key entry

Of course, the Ultion Nuki handle can be locked and unlocked with a key. At the heart of this handle is a tamper-proof Ultion barrel, which easily fits within composite and UPVC entrance doors, and conforms to up-to-date British Standards in security.

What apps control the Nuki door handle?

The Ultion Nuki handle works with several home integration apps for streamlined operation. A pairing with one of these popular apps allows for potential voice activated and remote access, and it can even be linked to automate guest access to doors for hotel rooms and rental homes. All you need is a Nuki Web account and the App to get started.

Google Home App

“OK Google, lock my front door.” You can link your Web account with Google Assistant for easy voice control of your doors.

Amazon Alexa

“Alexa, lock my back door.” Seamlessly link your handle with Amazon Alexa and use voice commands to operate it. Should anyone try to shout commands through the letterbox, Alexa can be set up to ask for a 4-digit security code, thus preventing access for intruders.

Apple HomeKit

Operate doors with just a swipe of your iPhone or Apple Watch. The Ultion Nuki can be linked with any HomeKit compatible device via Bluetooth.

Ring Doorbell

Combine Ring’s live camera function with the ability to lock or unlock your front or back doors remotely. With your smartphone, you can see who’s outside, should it be a family member who forgot their key, let them in.

Airbnb

Efficiently operate rental accommodations with the combination of Airbnb and the Nuki App. By linking your Web account with Airbnb, you can automate the check-in process for your guests and send them the relevant codes (for the Keypad) or access (via the Nuki App on their smartphones) for doors during their stays.

Can I operate the Nuki handle with Wi-Fi?

The model we supply is the Ultion Nuki Go, which includes a built-in Wi-Fi* bridge, so no external hub is required.

The Nuki Go handle works with your home network

When you connect the Nuki to your home’s Wi-Fi system, you can control it from a greater distance than with Bluetooth. Tied with your home network, it becomes part of an efficient smart home.

What batteries power the Nuki handle?

The Ultion Nuki has a compartment for 4 x AA sized batteries, with the option to either use rechargeable batteries or a Power Pack.

Powered by 4 X AA rechargeable batteries

Rechargeable batteries are more efficient for use than standard alkaline batteries, as rechargeable batteries will last almost twice as long. Their rechargeability also makes them more environmentally friendly.

Supplied with a convenient battery charger

You’re all set to go with the rechargeable battery Power Pack already included with your Ultion Nuki handle. With this Power Pack, there’s no need to change batteries, and you can easily recharge the Power Pack via one of its USB-C ports.

Batteries will last over a year

The Power Pack is designed to last twice as long as conventional batteries, and will help to reduce waste otherwise caused by the disposal of quickly-depleting alkaline batteries.

The Nuki App informs you when the batteries are low

You can see how much power your handle has with the App, so you’re always one step ahead in keeping it charged up.
